RESOURCE: Tagging Users on Hootsuite or Later.com

SCHEDULE + Tag your Audience.png

There are two programs that I love using to schedule out my marketing content. And as a person who loves sharing the GOOD news about what our business is doing with others, I feel like tagging is such a crucial component to reminding people who our story involves is a great way to increase engagement & visibility.

When you are working alongside a client, a team project, or just want to feature someone amazing (as I do in the Your Ethical Business community with weekly guests), you want to make sure that all tags create a road that leads back to your original post to encourage other’s followers to become your followers, too.

Here are two videos created by the request of the MKTG Tribe members on how to quickly tag business profiles or personal Instagram profiles, depending on limited features of each app, on both Hootsuite and Later.com.

PS. If you are still deciding which content scheduler tool you’d prefer to use for your audience, I mention in the videos what some differences/similarities are if you are on the fence.

Tagging Business Accounts on Hootsuite

1) Create your posts all at once for all of the platforms you wish to use and schedule out to a later time.

2) Go back into each post (within each platform), and select edit

3) Start typing after the “@” symbol to populate the tag of business or public profiles on that specific platform (note: Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn handles or “@” accounts may be different- as I showed you mine was across each platform)

4) Save and publish after you see the tag selected in blue.

Tagging Personal & Professional Pages (must be public) on Later.com

1) Select the profiles you wish to create your post on the top (on the two circles of your profile, make sure the “+” button is selected and your picture isn’t greyed out)

2) Once you move forward after pasting your content from the marketing dashboard, move to the next step

3) In the step where we can work on Instagram and Facebook, you can easily click the “tag person” button under the image and click where you want the tag to be on the photo. ALSO- you can tag a person in the comments with adding the “First Comment” Feature

4) Unfortunately, Facebook does not populate tag suggestions, so you will have to manually tag someone on Facebook.

I like to reference instagram.com and have Facebook or LinkedIn open and logged in just incase I forget who’s who and what the exact name of the account I’m tagging is. It’s a quick and easy pro-tip to reference who you need to, instantly.

Also, batching your content from the monthly Marketing Dashboard and including a spot to write down all of your tagged people is a great way to not miss anyone important you want to tag during your process.

Just imagine- if you can let at least 2-3 people collaborate with your post each week so they can share it out with their network, what would that do for your business and overall brand visibility?

If you have any questions about tagging using these schedulers, feel free to comment below or make some noise in the Facebook Community Group for Marketing Tribe Members only!
